I have gone out of my comfort zone, and once again have entered a layout contest!!  This one is at theStudio.  I wasn’t sure I would be able to even get a layout done for this week.. But I did!!  And that was because I had the most incredible inspiration arrive on Wednesday this week!!

Can you guess what it is??  You probably can from the title of my post!!  My GodDaughter Camryn Emelia Zallas arrived sometime around lunchtime on Wednesday, September 1st.  She is so beautiful I just had to make a layout, and the tones and colors of the first pictures ever taken by her wonderful mommy, were a perfect match for the kit we had assigned for this challenge.

Once I knew what pictures to use I went hunting for my inspiration.  This is a no template allowed challenge!!  This layout just screamed at me:

I thought it would be a wonderful, subtle way to highlight all the wonderful elements to the kit we were assigned to work with.  I then took the kit preview:

To inspire me further.. But I was so surprised, when in the end, my layout became something that was completely my own!!

Man it has been nearly 2 months since I last posted to my blog!! But I have been so busy with training and work, and playing with my kids whenever I am home, that it just was not a priority. But now I am back, and I have awesome kits that I plan on showcasing!! For today, lets check out my latest find!

So I am getting closer to my LONG training trip to Toronto and lets just say mommy is more upset than anyone else in her household.  I am not sure how I will survive so far from my babies!!

This week I received my professional photos for Jeremy’s 7th year and Timothy’s 15 month birthday.. Man I just love this photographer! She does some absolutely gorgeous stuff, and at a VERY reasonable price.   Well there was one shot of Timothy that I knew I just had to make a layout of.  But I wasn’t sure of the kit to use.  Then yesterday I saw a One Kit Call, for Red Ivy Designs.  The kits name was Blue Eyes.. It was stunning..

I am so behind in my blog posts it is not even funny!!  My designers must be so disappointed in me.. Anyhoo.. This month I am once again running 4 challenges.

This is one of my favorite challenges to host.  I create my ad and my mix well in advance of my layout!  This results in me having as much fun as the people who join me in the fun.

Here is my layout!

Both ad and Layout were made using the new MLAS Charity kit (not yet released) Be Well Believe.

Also at MLAS.. They decided to bring back my Colour Inspiration Challenge!!  I am so proud.  Each month I get an awesome designer who creates a kit for me based on the colors that I chose.. This months color is teal…

But of course MLAS is not the only site that I get to challenge people on.  I get to run two challenges on Designs and Digital too…

And my last challenge this month is my All About Me challenge.  This is a challenge that many people find hard to do… So I don’t mind that the last few months I have not had many people joining me, but if you are up to learning more about you and leaving a gift for future generations pop on over and take a peak.

So this week I completed layouts 9 and 10 for the challenge and since we have not had another road block it means I only have 1 more layout to do and I have completed the entire race.. I have collected some awesome prizes.

For challenge nine we had to kinda work as a team.. We were given a list of items we needed to use in our layout, and then presented with a color wheel.  No matter what color my partner chose I had to be on the opposite side.. Well, my partner picked PURPLE.. Can you believe it??  So I got to work with Yellow yet again.

The next challenge was an intersection challenge.. This is a challenge where both team members have to work on the same layout.. Me and Helen decided the best way to do this was to pick a template, and a kit, and then split the parts.  We both agree the layout turned out really well.

And if some of you are wondering why I have not been around lately.. I have been helping out the management team at Designs in Digital.. It is NDIDDS time, so head on over and check it out!

So this month has started with two difficult challenges for ADSR.

The first challenge was to create a Bucket List (a list of items you want to do before you die).. They set the number at 50 and then pretty much let us go wild.

Challenge 8 consisted of us creating a layout using a tone on Tone paper and 10 elements.. I love how this turned out but I think I need to edit it…

This was made using the kit FOREVER I AM CHANGED by Mama Mia Designs.

I found these challenges REALLY hard… I am hoping the next 2 weeks are a little easier..  Emotionally that is.

Ok, so many of my friends and family know presently we are dealing with one sick little Timmy. Brian stayed home with him on Wednesday, since it was his first full day on the inhalers. I have such a wonderful husband who is my perfect enabler.. He took the most adorable picture of my little man. And it seemed perfect for my missing P52 layout – comfy. I am also trying to get organized for the new Month ahead.  Next month I will be continuing to race in ADSR, I will hopefully be progressing to the next level in MLAS ScrapOff, hosting 2 challenges on DID, and one challenge on MLAS, and my usual CT work, which will include helpign with NDIDDS!!!

As I get organized to take on all these wonderful activities.. I also look forward to a month of working weekends and spending more time with my kids during the week!!  I have tonnes of goals ahead of me including scrapping my Olympic pictures, organizing Jeremy’s Birthday, Spending time with my kids, and preparing to start my new job in April..

I am now officially on 5 Creative Teams.

My store Teams are Designs in Digital and My Life and Scrap.

And my Designers are Missys Bits (at DID and ESS), Tiger Lily Digis (at DID), and Z Pink Boudoir Designs (at MLAS).

So I am lookng forward to the adventures ahead for me in March.  To trigger some ideas and just fill space, I have decided to post some of my favorite layouts, I have come across this week in my strolling through DigiScrapLand.. Please enjoy!
