January Begins

Well, this is the first month of 2010 and really all I have learned thus far is I am definitely no more organized than I was last year!  So everyone will have to forgive me, because more than likely that means this blog will not be updates as often as I would like.

With the new year comes new CT assignments.  And I have hit the ground running…

This month the designer I have been assigned to at Designs in Digital is Pixel Perfect Designs.  She makes the cutest most versatile kits for people with children.  My first kit is Snow Wonder:

With this kit I created two pages.  A Calendar Topper:

And I made one for the January 6th Speed Scarp at DID:

After the designer I also get to work with the Large DID Collab kit (Walk on the Wild Side):
I found this kit was great for scrapbooking my boys:

So that has been my first week, lets see what I come up with next week.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Well, life has been insanely hectic!!!  I have had the pleasure of working with over 5 kits in the past week for my CT responsibilities.  I have made an additional 4 layouts that I have not had the time to post to my blog.  Check out my gallery at Designs in Digital.

With these added opportunities I have opened up the opportunities for family and friends to have their lives scrapbooked for free. The only condition would be permission to post my work (of your pictures) on scrapbooking websites, in order to meet my CT responsibilities.  All you need to do is send me your photos, a brief descriptions of the tone, style, size (8×10, 12×12) and color of pages you are looking for and I will handle the rest.

These pages make excellent gifts, books, and images to post on the wall (you can buy 12×12 frames now!!).

Here are some images of my most recent work:

Thanks to everyone for their love, support and prayers.  I love what I do, and the great opportunities it has afforded me!!

Christmas Cookie Party 2009

What a fun event this was this year.  Jeremy and Joseph invited over their friends Rebecca and Samantha for some cookie decorating fun!  My kitchen is now a mess to say the least.  And the girls left with mouths and faces that were blue, green, and red.  This year I tried to find some candies that were unique, but also small enough to fit onto the cookies without being overwhelming.  Funny thing was that the kids focused on the candies that were WAY too big.  Well, the cookies turned out great, and all the kids were on a sugar rush for the rest of the day!!

Remembering our first Christmas in BC

It is hard to believe we have lived in BC now for 2 years.  And this will be Christmas number 3.  We were blessed last year with the need and ability to go back to Edmonton to celebrate with Family, but this year once again, we are without money or ability to go back to family.  So it has become a good time to remember what we did that first year.  Flipping through the photos, I came across a collection of pictures that I took of the boys, in the hopes of creating Christmas cards for family.  It never happened, but the memories remain.  This year is the first year, I am not buying the boys suits, opting for comfortable clothing to attend mass in, but hopefully once again I will be able to take some shots to make some memories with!!

I made this page with the kit Cozy Christmas, by Missy Bits of course… This kit is quite versatile, and will help make a few pages this season!!

Quick CT job for Scrapping All The Way

I was playing around on DigiShop Talk.  You know walking through the CT calls.  I do hope at some point to get some regular CT work with  2 or 3 designers.  I came across a posting for a One Kit Call… I just loved this kit.  It is very festive and fun, AND the purple colors work so well with my boys.  It only took me about 45 minutes to throw together this awesome page, which I think shows off the kit REALLY well.

Still waiting on Santa to bring me my PSE… Turns out Santa says he might not bring it… Well, we shall see.

Joined a New CT Team

So it is official today.  I am on the CT Team for MISSY BITS!!!  She is a very awesome designer of whom I have used much of her products.  Most recently I created the following Page, which won Layout of the Day (LOTD) at Designs in Digital.

This is using her FALL FOREST kit.  It is a gorgeous kit, and VERY versatile!!  This page is also made using a free template I found on-line.  My goal is to start making my own templates once Santa brings me my own personal copy of PhotoShop Elements!!

I am so proud of being able to join her team and excited at what lies ahead!!

Starting to be a SAHM

Well, next week officially starts off being a SAHM. Actually it is only part time, because the boys will be at childcare 2x per week, to ensure that I rest and keep this baby healthy. The first of my many goals is to organize our lives. We are creating both weekly and daily schedules, so that the boys are prepared and adjust to the changes to come.

So far the weekly schedule, for the home is:

1. Monday – Laundry (every second week change sheets)
2. Tuesday – Vacuuming
3. Wednesday – Bathrooms
4. Thursday – Organizing (pick on area and sort out, remove what we do not need)
5. Friday – Weekly Menu Planning
6. Saturday thru Saturday – Free Days, no specific cleaning duties.

Our morning wake-up routine will be:

Wake Up
Get Dressed
Make Beds
Eat Breakfast
Brush Hair
Brush Teeth

I am hoping to institute therapeutic snack time 3x per week (if money allows).

Speaking of money, we definitely will need to get better control of this. My examination of our funds this month showed that we spent 2x what Brian will bring in. If we cannot control ourselves our savings will be gone in no time.

Our garden is growing beautifully and we are making use of the farmer’s market to the best of our abilities.

I will post pics of our schedules, the boys transition strips, and other organizing as soon as possible.

WHO AM I?

WHO AM I?

Okay this is the week one challenge at my favorite website… ONLINE CHRISTIAN PARENTS
We have been asked to create a blog

who you are TODAY … who you are at home, in Christ, and who you would like to become in the next year!

Today I am not very happy with who I am. I feel that I am a fake, a doubter, and unsuccessful. I have gone through some major situations in the last little while. I moved for a job, that a subsequently lost for no reason. I have a son who displays some symptoms of autism, but not enough to get the designation… Still he needs help to adjust into the school system. I am lazy. I watch WAY too much TV.

At home I try to be a mom.. When we first moved out here, I kept the house clean, took care of the boys, etc. etc. Now it takes alot to get motivated to clean. I job hunt 3 to 4 hours a day, different websites, recruitment firms, networking. I try to stay inside my little cocoon. My son’s got to childcare, so I can job hunt, which leads me to feel guilty being home without them here.

In Christ, I am a baby.. It is funny what I think and why.. I know nothing… Trust nothing… Try to grow and act like someone mature and knowledgeable just to find out my assumptions are out to lunch and that I am further behind then I originally thought.

I am hoping by next year that I will be more mature in Christ, stronger, more accepting of the lot God has given me in life and well, not so negative.

Right now this seems very far off.
